Absolutely. I think that you’ll find that you won’t encounter as many problems as you fear. Parenting responsibly is not often the impossible task that we sometimes imagine it to be. Some children (and grown children) can by very challenging for their parents, but I think your views of balance and reason probably equate to one of the most beneficial approaches in the long run.
