I received the initial email telling me I was banned. I responded to that email. I received another email telling me that I was still banned. I did not respond to that email. I wrote the Medium article. Finally, I was contacted by the Executive Escalation Team who told me the issue had been brought to their attention, and that they were reinstating me.

Do I think the Medium article helped? I don’t know. The article was never mentioned in any of the correspondence between UpWork and me.
